Testhead Cards
The Testhead Cards task (Figure 3-7) specifies what type of cards to use for the board test.
Selecting the cards
1 Enable a module by clicking the Enabled for Testing check box.
2 Select the cards to use for the test by clicking the check boxes for the appropriate slots. To enable a different card in a particular slot, click the name to display a list of cards for selection.
Refer to the notes below on selecting modules and cards.
3 Click Save Board Configuration.
Notes on selecting modules and cards
- Modules: A one-module system will have the lower module installed (either Module 1 or Module 3).
- Due to the wiring of the testhead, both modules in a bank must be enabled before a module in the other bank can be enabled. For example, if Module 3 is enabled, the next module selected must be Module 2; you will not be able to enable Module 0 or Module 1 before Module 2.
- The slots in Modules 0 and 1 are numbered from bottom to top while the slots in Modules 2 and 3 are numbered top to bottom, matching the order in the physical testhead.
- ASRU and Control XTP cards: Each module used must have the ASRU card in slot 1 and Control XTP in slot 6 enabled.
- Choose the asru c revision or asru n revision, depending on the card in use.
- To use Cover-Extend, the ASRU card must be enhanced to allow a USB connection to the Cover-Extend signal conditioner card. In this case, select the asru c revision usb or asru n revision usb option.
- Note that the ASRU C card and ASRU-N cards cannot be used together in the same machine.
- Pin cards: There must be at least one pin card enabled in each module.
ASRU card type:
If used, only one Utility Card can be installed and enabled in a module.
Declaring External Devices
If a Utility Card is installed and external device(s) will be used, they must be declared. Copy the DLL file for the external device to either of these folders: Agilent_ICT/ext_dev
or Agilent_ICT/boards/<board_name>/custom_ext_dev
Then declare the external device as follows:
1 Ensure that the Utility Card is enabled.
2 In the External Devices section, click Add Utility Connection.
Figure 3-6 External device connection
3 Enter a name for the external device and select the DLL from the Library File drop-down list.
The software lists the DLLs available in the
Agilent_ICT/boards/<board_name>/custom_ext_dev
and Agilent_ICT/ext_dev
folders. If a particular DLL is present in both folders, the one in the custom_ext_dev
folder will be used.4 Specify where the external device is connected by selecting the device slot ID check boxes (see Table 3-2).
5 Click Add.
