Gather Materials

Before beginning the development process, gather together the following information and equipment, including:

Accurate schematic diagrams and a component locator of the board to be tested.

Converted CAD data (board, board_xy).

Material lists identifying the circuit components, pin number diagrams, and component values and tolerances where appropriate.

Fixturing information (type, size, custom attributes).

At least one known-good PC board (we recommend at least five known-good boards).

A blank PC board, one not loaded with devices, to be used as an aid in determining pin 1 and 2 of analog devices and in fixture verification. (If you do not have an X-Y data file, you will need the blank board for digitizing.)

Adequate pin cards.

Power supplies.

Any needed external instrumentation.

Documentation on all custom and analog and functional devices on the PC board.

As the development progresses, additional information may be required. This additional information may include:

Custom part and digital library information

Boundary-Scan information (BSDL file, datasheet, and disabling information for Boundary-Scan and Cover-Extend tests)

PLD data files for programming

ISP data files for testing

4.3 Testhead The testhead is that portion of the tester that supports the PIN, ASRU and Controller cards. The testhead is divided into two BANKS and each BANK is divided into two MODULES, see figure 2 below. Bank 1 contains modules 0 and 1, bank 2 contains modules 2 and 3.
