14.0 PRODUCT DEBUG TECHNIQUES

14.1 It is important to remember that this tester platform is an In-Circuit Tester. As such it is

attempting to test every accessible component individually, one at a time. It does this while attempting to isolate the tested component from the rest of the circuitry of the UUT. But the surrounding circuitry will still have an affect on the DUT.

14.2 If the tester reports a failure and the failing device is the correct part and installed

properly, it is imperative that the operator check the surrounding components.

14.3 If the tester reports a short or resistance failure, always confirm that the short or incorrect resistance reading is present on the UUT when it is on the bench.

14.4 All debug technicians should obtain On the – Job- Training in the use of the Board

Graphics Viewer and the Push Button debug tools from an experience test technician or test engineer.

Testhead

4.3 Testhead The testhead is that portion of the tester that supports the PIN, ASRU and Controller cards. The testhead is divided into two BANKS and each BANK is divided into two MODULES, see figure 2 below. Bank 1 contains modules 0 and 1, bank 2 contains modules 2 and 3. The test fixtures are placed on the banks of the tester and locked down for board testing.
